Only 2.5 miles from the Edgewater puts many outdoor activities at your fingertips. Hiking 120 miles of trails, Biking , or join in on one of Acadia’s guided Nature Tours throughout the park. Other Outdoor activities may include a Scenic Walk along the shore path or taking in one of our areas world famous gardens is a must.

For the water lovers…

Whale Watching on one of Bar Harbor’s 3 whale watching boats, Deep Sea Fishing, Sailing , or one of the most popular sports of the area Canoeing or Sea Kayaking. Rentals and lessons are available locally. Take a guided tour or for the experienced explore our beautiful, rocky coast on your own.

For the Cultural side of you…

Theater, Museums, Shopping, and Antiqueing. There are many Maine made treasures to be had or find that rare antique you’ve been hunting for. Bar Harbor’s own Band Concert held twice a week in the Village Green is always a good time, especially for the kids. If Golfing is your thing take in 18 at Bar Harbor’s historical Kebo Valley Golf Club, the eighth oldest course in the country-Beautiful…but challenging. Enough Restaurants to please any taste, anywhere from fine dining to eating lobster in the rough at a traditional “Maine” lobster pound. All within minutes from a place that feels like home.

There are also many things here at the Edgewater. Bring your own kayak or canoe and start your days journey from right here at your door. There are many beautiful places to go. You may want to bring your camera and binoculars to view the varied marine life and the different species of migratory waterfowl which feed just offshore. Seals, porpoises, eagles, ospreys, and loons abound in the skies and waters are seen frequently.
